I was looking at some code I wrote the other day thinking someone else wrote it. When I finally realized I wrote it I was definitely using the first 2. Along with a "What The Frank?!".

This is even more useful than you said - This can be used in any game with tasks, task turn-in points and information points. Even in a shooter or RTS you might have special objectives available or other points of interest.

You could also use them for interactive tutorials, etc., Awesomeness and goodness. Thanks Adam (yes I am only now reading this for the first time).
