1.in basic lighting there is no specular.
2.in advanced lighting transparent objects have no specular (in beta 3 this feature was present for both advanced and basic lighting)
3.glow doesn't work in both basic and advanced lighting.

1. Agreed, but maybe that's why it's called basic...

3. Glow works fine in all weathers. Include your specs in posts. 7900gs ftw!

my apologies about the glow. After I deleted the prefs it started working.
So the only issues about the material system currently are the specular and the transparency.
By the way I think specular must be present in basic lighting too. It was present in beta3. I personally prefer basic lighting.
