pl\sql functions

I know this probably isn't the place for this but I'm getting desperate. I was wondering if someone could point me to some tutorials for creating pl/sql functions. The syntax makes no sense to me. My teacher's 2 examples are very vague and strangely our book appears to have no examples of pl\sql functions I'm going back again to see her but I have a feeling I still won't get it.

    Assuming that you are talking about Oracle PL/SQL, you can find all of the documentation and example code here.
