Torsion and McAfee aren't playing nice

by Scott Doherty - A.K.A. Jetsum · in Torsion · 07/29/2009 (7:17 am) · 8 replies

Not really sure if McAfee is truly at fault but here is whats going on. I using Vista Home premium with McAfee. everything runs fine until I install Torsion 1.0.852. At that point everything freezes and the explorer crashes. I've also noticed that when McAfee run a scan it always quarantines Torsion. Any ideas on how to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jetsum

What version of McAfee are you running? I haven't had an issue with the Enterprise edition here on XP or Vista. Of course, I may have told it to ignore Torsion back in the day, too.

I'm also using Mcafee (8.7.0i) with all the latest updates, with no problems. Are you sure you don't have a virus?

Out of all the AV programs i've ran, AVG (free) seems to have the least amount of problems with false detection and/or system slowdown. Might give it a shot, it's free and pretty well regarded.
