Order to read Docs

Hey I am going through the pureLIGHT workflow (only without that whole pre-requisite for knowing a 3d package that the docs talk about...*cough*), and I was wondering if there was an 'order of operations' for reading the documents/videos. I watched/skimmed several before getting the pureLIGHT demo, but I am currently experiencing a problem that I haven't been able to find a good reference on: my geometry is failing to import into preLight saying the light map is too big. By turning down the 'Light Units Per Meter' setting in the scene, I get past that error, but get a runtime crash, so I think I am doing something wrong.
I must have missed an important bit somewhere, can anyone give me a pointer?

Can you send me a copy of your scene? Sounds suspicously like its a scaling issue.

Turn up the "light map texel size" in prelight before importing...
2 is the default.( you might want to uncheck 'convert existing meshes at
current texel size)
If prelight has to generate a lightmap larger than 2048x 2048, it causes
this error.
re docs.. I watched all their youtube vids in order, skimmed through
the pdf's, and then just played with it.
I admit its a lot to take in, but the vid tutorials do give a lot of info,
you just have to remember it !!
