Rebuy Yack Pack for T3D?

by Chad Kilgore · in General Add-On Discussion · 07/12/2009 (8:18 am) · 10 replies

Do anybody if I were to purchase Yack Pack for TGE and TGEA if I would have to buy it again when/if it becomes available for T3D?

I do not know if the developers will be updating the pack for Torque 3D or, if they do, they will be selling it anew or just releasing it to existing licensees.

That's a disappointment then. There's not much point in me buying the Yack pack not knowing if the time I invest in it will be useful in the T3D engine once I step over from TGEA.
It would be cool if the T3D release could come with most of the widely used extensions or packs available for it, at least in beta.

If they threw in every little thing that was available it would cost a lot more than $1000 and you would end up getting a lot of features that you do not need. Hopefully the project will be continued as we want to use it eventually, but will not have time to integrate it till next year.

Joshua, I don't expect GarageGames to port every resource out there to T3D. I don't want them to either, there is need for a healthy community on its own that builds on top of the GG engines.

What I meant was more of a coaching job to get some resources ported or adapted by their creators.I know, doing this next to getting T3D out in time and feature-complete will be hard, but it's going to make the engine seem much more 'complete' and 'ready'. For people coming from previous incarnations, it's no good having T3D ready and available, when some important assets will only be available in the far future, or never.

Not trying to nag here, just indicating my idea of a perfect world on this account :-)

For anyone whom it matters to.... I spoke with the Yack Pack people and they have no plans to update it for T3D.

This makes me sad. :(

yep, that's what I said. Perhaps one day, someone in the torque community who knows more than I, will update it for T3D.

The Yack Pack has already been ported to Torque3D thanks to Konrad Kiss. The thread is posted in the 'Torque 3D (private)' forum >

What's the EULA for the Yack pack ... does it say its only for TGE/A - or allows you to port it?
