Hello GG Community,
As the person in charge of marketing for GarageGames.com, I am very much interested in the numerous Torque projects that are going on out in the great wide interwebs. Whether it be a game, simulation, virtual world, or even machinima, I want to know about it. And why should you tell me? Because if I know your project exists, we might be able to do some co-marketing for it. Let's face it, when you're successful, so are we, and vice versa!
So what are the different ways we market Torque games?
Powered by Torque
The automatic thing we do for all Torque games is to put you on the Powered by Torque list. Right now it's just a static list, but if all goes according to plan, we plan on making this a searchable database so new users can search for specific criteria (such as TGB-made RPGs or games published on InstantAction). If you want to be added to the list, you need to e-mail me (deborahm@garagegames.com) the following information:
For games with above average visual appeal and game play quality, we often do GG developer interviews. Here, we're looking for Torque games that have a good dev story to tell. We also need someone from the developer team to answer a series of questions and provide us with high quality video and screenshots for the interview. If you think you have a successful game or other project that makes the grade, e-mail me at deborahm@garagegames.com.
High Traffic Visibility on GG.com
If you pass the developer interview stage, there are a couple of other options available to you. For games that have a nice design and polish, we often use them to promote the engines directly. You can see these games on our Best of Torque pages. We also advertise games on the engine pages. For example, if you go to TGB product page and click on the "Games" Tab, you can see a short list of games made with the engine. And finally, every once in a while, I also include games in our monthly newsletter. Usually I highlight two or three games around a theme (such as Torque games published on Steam). All the opportunities in this paragraph are by invite only and are often a result of a developer interview.
If you have any questions about promoting Torque games, feel free to e-mail Eric Preisz, the Director of Torque: ericp@torquepowered.com. Again, the entire community wins when people see the sheer amount of awesomeness that is made with our engines every day. Thanks and hope to see your game soon!
