Yet another post on Portals

I have spent the last 3 days searching the forums on Portals to no avail.
Using: Constructor 1.03 ----- (I tried 1.05 and it screwed up my ability to create and save lighting)
When I create portals, some work and some do not even when made exactly the same fashion.. even when copying and pasting. Most of the time, when I cross through the portals, the entire area past it to the next portal disappears completely.
What I have checked:
- No portals are sharing the same plain.
- They are set appropriately as Portals in Constructor
- They are square / normal shaped brushes
- The are .01 units think and are slightly buried in the structural brushes around them
- No detail brushes being used at all.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, I also tried the rotating to no effect. How do you create them in quark?

"1.This version fixes a bug where portals are incorrectly created if the brush has been stretched or rotated after creation."
Here's the link: www.aztica.com/images/constructor_update.zip
Hopefully, the lighting features still work in this version so you can have the best of both worlds! (I didn't even notice the lighting issue b/c I was creating all static and dynamic lights in TGEA.)
Anyway, hope this helps!

Hey guys, try Constructor 1.04. It has a fix for portals."1.This version fixes a bug where portals are incorrectly created if the brush has been stretched or rotated after creation."

Now two things have started though...
1) error: must have one and only one zone to be a traversal root (null) has 2
2) 1.04 started removing pieces of faces even with HSR turned off (and sun off).
The first one I believe has something to do with two dif's touching I guess? If so I need to find a way around that because they have to touch. The second.. unless I'm missing something I'll need to find a way around this as well.

@Kerry: Thanks - I'll be trying that update see if it fixes the portal problem - I've been using 1.0.51

@Andrew: yeah you're right about the first problem being to do with 2 difs touching. You need to make sure that the brushes on the outside of your DIF that may touch other difs, are not brushes that contain zoned areas. (eg a house wall that is on the very edge of the dif)@Kerry: Thanks - I'll be trying that update see if it fixes the portal problem - I've been using 1.0.51

@Andrew - sorry, I don't have enough Constructor experience to help with that. I do think version 1.0.51 was better with those types of issues (concerning the missing faces).

@ChrisG - No prob. If you've been using 1.0.51, portals should be fine since it includes all the fixes from 1.04.@Andrew - sorry, I don't have enough Constructor experience to help with that. I do think version 1.0.51 was better with those types of issues (concerning the missing faces).

It would be great if this could be solved as I really want to use Constructor, but due to need for portals in our project it just doesn't cut it.
Constructor's inability to create portals is the main reason why I've gone back to using Quark.
