Hidden Surface Removal... (any docs?)

I would like to read about HSR and what it is... I'm not seeing anything in the TDN for this. Can someone point me to a document? Or perhaps explain the process here?

I've found that HSR should be experimented with for best results because every scene is different in complexity and triangle calculation -- sometimes weird math happens, sometimes something useful.

The Everything About Constructor thread may have a few tidbits buried in it also. I would turn it off and ignore it unless you're making simple, simple, simple difs.
- Ydnar's versions of Q3map2 were brilliant with face removal.
