by Tom Spilman · in Torque 3D Beginner · 05/30/2009 (1:20 am) · 823 replies

I think it's about time we started a show off thread for cool Torque 3D stuff.

Screenshots are great... but a YouTube HD video gives you massive bonus points. :)

Ready... Set.... GO!

@Felix

Maaaan that looks good.
I see it's alpha blending currently. Do you have any plans for full RGBA vertex color/painting to blend more than 2 materials?

Since I promised Richard I'd post it up, here is the beginning of my drag-drop inventory for Torque3D! It's very basic, rough around the edges, and all of that, but I wanted to be sure I dropped it here before vacation. Enjoy!

Hi Kory, thanks :)

I'm all over the place with this project man. In an attempt to sum it all up: It's a Sci-fi game featuring combat on an alien planet.

I have taken the concepts from my T2D project here and applied them to T3D.

That's the first of like 5 or 6 blogs I was posting as I was learning T2D. To my eternal shame, I ended up dropping it on the backburner once I started creating more art assets. The reason for this is because I had planned on using 2D animations of 3D characters, and once I started that I ultimately just chose to make the jump to 3D altogether. Months later, with tons more study under my belt, I've emerged with the beginnings of a fantastic multiplayer alien world! I've chosen not to be so public with my progress this go around, because I will never forgive myself for so adamantly sharing my blogs last time and ultimately dropping it.

(I know, I'm hard on myself; it was my first project ever and I was learning as I went.)

@Jeff
Not currently, no. Adding that many textures and blending them all in shaderGen would probably be a massive headache unfortunately...

Nice! Only the combination of colours and music made me a bit nervous :-S

That looks cool @Jesse!

I posted earlier this year about my little IndieGoGo campaign to re-create experimental FPS ROTC: Ethernet using Torque3D. It took much longer than anticipated (6 months instead of 1), but Terminal Overload just had its first public release: Version 0.1.0.

Here's a short montage of a couple of 1vs1 testing sessions leading up to the 0.1.0 release:

Whoah! That looks brilliant. All the loopy trail effects are great. Can't wait to see more of this, especially with a few more players...

Thumbs up for a good show!

Wooo, look increible :)

Daniel, we need to add this to T3D site and dedicate some special place... a open source game with T3D.

For those who understand what it means... After several attempts for a l-o-o-o-o-ng time, did I finally manage to create a imo decent looking wheat field. I'm sorry, no full gameplay vids this time; only a few seconds of peacefully, quiet wheat, waving in the wind :)

(this vid is available in full HD!)

GroundCover object (not forest!) with 3d shape, aggressive LOD's and culling out at 64m. The around 50 FPS in the vid I got with max settings (1920x1080 / 60Hz / 4x AA / 16x MM / Dynamic light / PostFX ON / Visible distance 12km) and the capturing program running.

So you have 3D ground cover objects with wind animation? This is what I always wanted.

Luis, I've been thinking about redesigning the 'made with T3D' part of the site for a while now so we can have more games and more info per game (like some screenshots for example, and longer descriptions). I'll probably only start on that after finishing off unit testing. And I'll test your vehicle crash fix :P.

I always find myself coming back to T3D. I created a melee weapons pack consisting of 19 melee weapons for sale, and I just decided to try an Import them to T3D.It was painless to say the least.
