I think it's about time we started a show off thread for cool Torque 3D stuff.
Screenshots are great... but a YouTube HD video gives you massive bonus points. :)

This time is a hardware shader that computes the normal map on the fly. So no pre-calculated bitmap is required. The shader in question, compute the NormalMap using the diffuse texture, it also allows you to change the values of the bumpness in real time.

*edit* I've noticed part of the image is trimmed, so you may want to view the entire image a la right click-> view image.

I had the same thought Doug posted - I expect you could do a bit of math with angle/velocity and turn the emitters on/off so you'd get realistic vapour trails.
