by Tom Spilman · in Torque 3D Beginner · 05/30/2009 (1:20 am) · 823 replies

I think it's about time we started a show off thread for cool Torque 3D stuff.

Screenshots are great... but a YouTube HD video gives you massive bonus points. :)

Ready... Set.... GO!

I sometimes see this thread in the unread forums list but at the same time I never see a new post(2 or 3 times now).

Is there a 440 post limit to threads ? Perhaps we should start a showoff thread #2.

//Edit: now I can see page23 of the replies. Not sure what was stopping it from being shown before I made this post.

Here are a couple of early shots of the first level of Bellock Tower. I'm still waiting on more art assets, but these shots give a good indication of the feel and atmosphere of the level.

@Oscar - Very nice indeed.

just an observation the tile roof on top of the pillars look a wee bit to big for the scale - imo

I'm so much in love with Dexsoft's Viper that I made a video about it. This is actually not showing off much from our game (Xenocell.Com) apart from the modified vehicle camera I guess, but still... Wanted to post this - I had fun making it. :) This is using the latest head of Torque 3D.

Terrain was a bit bright but nice video, Konrad. :)

Does your modified vehicle camera act like the 3rd person player cam? Or is it like a chase cam?

haven't got round to studying vehicles yet

Thanks Steve

The cam is a chase cam with dynamic FOV based on vehicle velocity.

Flying dragon people, cool. Is that using the jetting code/function or some custom stuff?

Also nice fantasy airship(?) model.

it uses custom stuff,

the airship is a static model for now, till I can figure out how to make it fly and mount passengers

@john: nice detail! Impressive even.

@Eric: I love those dark creepy looking trees. They definitely add to the atmosphere.

@Oscar: Wow! When are you going to show off more about this game?

@Konrad: Nice ride! Kind of curious about those vehicle/cam changes.

@Donald: That looks cool... I especially like the dragon-man flight handling. been on a non-human player character bent myself lately.

It's great to see so many projects that are not striving for ultra realism (but do look great!). No boring modern-day and/or some tired last century wartime settings! Lots of awesomeness in this showoff thread!

Got a bit distracted from doing conversions lastnight by the world editor, and carried on playing around with a lil zone i was practicing on a month or so ago, turning out nice for a backdrop for some presentation pics for some daz3d grc's were working on.

pic spam !
