AFX licensing, how does it work?

Does it work like TGE where you can purchase the original then upgrade to tgea and have licenses for both of them or do I lose the TGE license once I upgrade to TGEA?

AFX for TGE is a separate license from AFX for TGEa, much like TGE and TGEa are different products. You don't lose one by obtaining the other, and will retain both.
