Enable LightRays and HDR - HOWTO

by Adam Beer · in Torque 3D Professional · 05/21/2009 (9:03 pm) · 28 replies

Just these in console:

LightRayPostFX.enable();

and

HDRPostFX.enable();

HDR doesnt look that great, but its probably not setup right. Light rays look amazing!

Yeah, lightrays does look amazing :)

Has to be seen ingame though to fully appriciate it :)

HDR is not working, DOF looks more like a fullscreen blur but i guess time will tell.

They definiatly did a good work on the other shaders :)

Hunters Town with light rays is so OMG

Add it here"

function startGame()
{
    initSunObjects();
    CycleSun();
    if ($Game::Running)
    {
        error("startGame: End the game first!");
        return;
    }

Set enabled = true in the posteffect where it is declared in script.

I think Ross did a fantastic job on those light rays. The way they filter through trees blows my mind:

Nod, very pretty. Just an FYI though, it eats up frames for lunch as well.

These are some of the best light rays I have ever seen. They seem so natural, not over powering like some other engines implementations.

Will this be eventually added to the PostFX section of the options menu?

@Charles
Better than that, the plan is to have some type of posteffect editor that allows you to tweak more than just on/off.

LightRayPostFX.disable(); is correct. I used it when I modified my optionsdlg GUI to add a toggle for it.
