Display on 1280 X 800 monitor

by Gerry "Hermetic" Smith · in Torque 3D Professional · 05/21/2009 (1:49 pm) · 4 replies

On a 1280X800 laptop monitor when a project is launched at the default 1024X768 res the window isn't centered on the screen and the title bar of the window is pushed up off the screen.

It was like this in the last beta but I forgot about it because I set the display to 800X600 to avoid that annoyance.

What's your GPU?

I've noticed ever since a few driver upgrades back, Nvidia seems to have stopped supporting 1280x800 for some reason, so I have to run fullscreen at 1280x768. Which is mildly annoying.
Full res my monitor is 1680x1050, but text is too small.

GeForce 8600M GT
and since its on a Dell laptop I can't grab the latest driver from Nvidia but get it through Dell. I grabbed the latest driver they offered a few months ago or so.

I know about the unofficial drivers one can get for laptops and I did try the latest one of those but it didn't seem to help with any of the torque problems so I just rolled back to the official dell one.

edit: oh but my screen res 'is' 1280X800 and not 1280X768 if that is what you were wondering. I can manually recenter the torque window within my monitor screen area.

We get this on quite a few of our Dell laptops here in the GG office. I'm not sure if there is a work-around unfortunately.

It's not a DELL issue - my ASUS does the same - on Beta 1 too
