I decided to buy Torque 3D to see these demo.
Undercity Demo,
South Pacific Demo,
Wetness & Precipitation Demo,
Gear of Torque Demo,
Depth of Field Demo,
Screen space Ambient Occlusion Demo,
soft Particle Demo
also Hompage Demo,

but these demo did not include Torque 3D Beta...
I want these demo..
When the demo will be included?

I would expect that GG would release any of these planned features that GG doesn't quite get finished in time for release as a post release update. IE: Don't start throwing any equipment just yet.
@Joe Melton - I'm curious as to how many more posts you're going to contribute in the form of: "blah blah add-on pack blah blah garage games blah blah trying to screw us blah blah." It appears you take every new opportunity to chirp up with a negative remark. Are you going to come up with any new ideas or reasoning, or just insist upon perpetuating your pessimistic attitude?
@Joe Melton - Garage Games has been very clear on every single feature which would be included in an add-on pack, and every feature which would be included in the core. There has been nothing but full transparency as to which features are which.

Well even then, it's not really time to start a riot... features do get cut if they can not get them to work within the time frame they have to work with. Anyone who has developed any type of software should be very aware of this.I would expect that GG would release any of these planned features that GG doesn't quite get finished in time for release as a post release update. @Tim: I would rather a busted half working feature, with the promise of future 'fix' then any of the so far advertised T3D features being cut because of 'time frame'. But im quite confident in this new face of GG being able to live up to everything it claims.

I think they will be delivering on all they promised, but not necessarily as soon as even they would like.
As for rather busted half working feature, I think GG is trying very hard to not release anything that's not up to par. I think their new model is really trying to provide a more reliable, robust engine, to a more professional user base. Better to supply nothing-at-all, then to supply something which isn't working smoothly.

Yeah, GG has scored a lot of credibility points recently with both sticking to the time line promised, as well as delivering some very cool tech.I think they will be delivering on all they promised, but not necessarily as soon as even they would like.

@Joe: Gerhards SSAO and DoF shader work is already in the beta. Do you mean the assets from his demo level?

I am keen that we take a look at the effect of wall material flow is achieved.

If released, he produced a number of scenes. ART can easily learn and use some of the engine. Personally, I would particularly like to see Wetness & Precipitation Demo in the engine.I am keen that we take a look at the effect of wall material flow is achieved.

Problem with that is the originally mentioned target timeframe for the beta which would in no way allow the technology to be usable when it reaches 1.0 or make T3D a real TGEA successor (broken & slow to no end at release)
With the current state, I expect and hope the beta will take at least 3 months, to ensure that T3D is really done and reached 1.0 (all features present, performance optimized, no editor errors).
There are currently two video "showcased" features missing (those videos were clearly put in relation to what will be possible with T3D thats impossible with TGEA).
I would welcome an official statement / update towards the licensees on the now intend beta timeframe and either a milestone list or at very least estimate by which beta the technology is meant to be "feature complete", if it is the 3rd last beta or 4th last, ... (the last 2 betas hopefully aren't intend to include new features, as I want a T3D 1.0 that works, no interest and understanding if I have to wait for T3D 1.7 to get a working tech again)

Quote:@robo: "BETA 1" You do understand what a beta is? Read the STICKY forum posts, there is a list of things being improved, and many things being added. Now is not the time to measure performance.

@Marc: You seem to have a great comprehension and attitude about things. I hope your suspicions are not correct and it do end up taking an extremely long time for Beta to end, as these forums are already filling with folk who have a hard time researching past forums for their answers what are most often already covered.

I want to say too that I don't mind these kinds of questions. They are fair. I've done my best to try to address the the fullest of my knowledge and certainty wherever I can, especially with those of you who have already pre-ordered.

@Joe: This was always a target set of features for Gerhard's demo level. That said, most of what's listed here is either finished, or replaced by something similar or better. Quote:Screen Space shaders (Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), Bloom, Depth of field, Geometry smoothing. Motion blur)All of these except Motion Blur are already in the beta.
Quote:GPU cloth dynamicsAFAIK, this is done and checked into trunk, but it's not yet lighting correctly, so we haven't included it. That said, there are multiple solutions for this out there. How many videos have we seen of people implementing cloth (Taylor, Gerald, deepscratch).
Quote:GPU simulated water effectsGerhard's work from before, or something similar, will be in Torque 3D. Jaimi's method is also really good.
Quote:GPU soft particlesAlready IN! =)
Quote: GPU soft/rigid body dynamicsImplementation similar to cloth. This is basically done, just not yet in the beta.
Quote:Dynamically destructible objectsSee my note on cloth. They are basically the same thing. The PhysX demo also has destructible objects.
Quote:Computational intelligence algorithms for AI usageThis was always the riskiest feature of Gerhad's target set. What we have already is this logic applied to flying objects (like birds, insects, etc.), but not yet with pathfinding. Hopefully the latter will come together soon.
Quote:Multi-pass deferred CustomMaterial shadersThis is Gerhard's own rendering technique. It may or may not prove more useful in some situations than Advanced Lighting. It could be that we offer this as a 3rd lighting / rendering solution, but I'd prefer to avoid that complexity, so hopefully we get the best of Gerhard's ideas and Advanced Lighting.

Brett have the patients of a saint. And every time you explain that question its gets better, more refined...

@Joe: Its very rude to EDIT after someone else have replied to what you said. What makes you seem like more of a tool, saying something silly, or editing it away trying to hide your silliness? To be fair to Joe, he might have edited his post before I commented. I noted it was changed when I posted. Again, please...no name calling guys.

Caylo, I edited my post before Brett's response, because I didn't want to deal with stupid comments from brainless fanboys who dare not ask the types of questions I ask. I think it's very valid to ask whether the features (not the assets) we've seen in the demo videos will be in release. Just like the wetness & precipitation, which was very cool in Gerhard's demo, but as yet there is no response as to whether it will be included. This helps those of us who may be contemplating the use of such features determine whether we need to hire someone to create those features.

EDIT:
Often the exact questions asked incessantly have been answered incessantly, this takes a large amount of time that could be dealt with real Beta problems, not spent on weeding speculations. There is indeed a difference between asking the same questions, and asking a NEW question about the same topic, often folk will post without even reading that what they ask/say was just said 2 post before them or in a nearby thread with the same topic description.

Even thou I check the forums usually every 20 minutes, I have often gone for hours without checking the forums. And often I opt not to commented at all, what should probably be much more often, for the delight of everyone involved. EDIT:

Caylo, not everyone lives on the forums as you do, nor does everyone necessarily read every post under every topic. In addition, my questions and comments were relevant to this topic. So, even though I don't really need to explain myself to you, I commented and asked questions under this topic. :)
