A sneak peek at my new game

I've had so much help here getting up to speed with TGB for which I'm very grateful :) I thought it was time to share a peek at what I'm working on.

For those of you old enough to remember - yes, it's a "Lunar Lander" type game. I thought it would be a good TGB project as it utilises the physics engine, particles (for thrust and explosions), animated sprites and multi-frame sprites (for score numbers) ... I've learnt a huge amount without having to undertake a complex game.

The game is up and running, now I just need to design some levels. The backgrounds are being done in Bryce which I've always enjoyed fooling around with, so I'm having a great time all around :)

No timetable for release yet - when it's ready, I'll put it out there :)

By the way: I've seen some people release videos of their gameplay - how are you capturing those? I have both Mac and PC here, so if it's a software package, I'd love a link - thanks :)

Screen capture for Mac: Séquence. This looks better than Screenflow, and is pretty cheap. Built-in option to automatically upload videos to FTP. I think I should buy it myself :)

For windows there is Taksi or Fraps.

Loved the old Lunar Lander game(s). Believe it or not but I still pull my old Commodore out of the closet every now and then.

That looks nice! Good luck with it and do keep us informed.

Fraps is about the only software video capture application that I've ever used and liked, but I'm sure there are others.
