#43 JW, I rethought packaging the code. All you need is TGE, Feng Ning's Patch and a compiler. All of the information is in this thread and in that thread with Feng's patch.

Btw: I find that the scale patch is great, because it allows me to model in inches, and still export to meters. Modeling with meters as system unit is really annoying when you're doing fine resolution things like characters or small props.

It is probably easier to do the patch and compile than to sort out my solution's settings. Either way, it's tits simple once you have the tools/code.

My question to anyone who sees this is, where do i put the file when i install it? which part of plug ins? if thats what i do.

Answer is in the Documents. The link above is direct to that information.
Basically place the .dle file into the ../3dsmax/plugins folder without 3ds Max running. Then start up 3ds Max so your plugin is loaded.

#50 Is there a 64-bit version of the dts exporter available? I run 64-bit windows and 3ds max and need this for my uni project :S

Unless you can use other model types with torque X, but as far as I've read, it doesn't.

#54 I downloaded the trial version of 3D Studio Max to try to scale down the old crossbow.max file. I installed this plug-in without a problem but if I try to open the file it crashes 3DS. I see the preview image before I click open. Any clues? Maybe I can't open the old crossbow file in the newest version of 3DS?

#57 @Scot; essentially you can open older max files in newer max versions..but I am not aware of how you are doing what you are doing. try to open max and then drag and drop the max file into a viewport, wait and follow prompts.

@Selin, I no longer distribute any of my exporter files for free.
- The fixed and tweaked exporters I compiled come with any one of my tools. Hewster has a 2010/2011 version around here but it's only for DTS version 25 and doesn't have fixed-pixel LOD, detail shape increases and other miscellaneous fixes but it will suit most peoples' needs.
