Bug: BillBoards LOD cause CRASH

I've stuck some custom models in (trees). When they LOD, my last LOD is a _BB and the engine/application crashes when it should load the Billboard. The other "3D" LODs render fine.
This happens with both Advanced and Basic Lighting, with shadoows on or off.
EDIT: Just tried the same model minus the _BB LOD and no crash, so I expect that confirms the _BB LOD is the problem. Crash also happens with _BBZ.

Tom this might be the same thing that is affecting the healthpatch.dts file, it uses a BBZ to handle a faked specular reflection and keep the health icon facing the user.

I can't say i've tested BBZ vs an autobillboard... both should work. Is that DTS in Undercity? I guess i need to fire up showtool and see how it should look. ;)

Amusingly I still have the model I sent someone to sort out the 1.8 billboards issue all zipped up and ready to go. Same models and textures as I'm using now so emailed.

@Logan: so that's what caused that! I'm about as skilled as a monkey with finger paints -- and colorblind to boot -- when it comes to art. I wouldn't even have known where to start looking.

@Tom: that health patch is located at: "art/shapes/items/patch/healthpatch.dts" in the FPS kit -- it's currently unused -- both svn and in the Beta. It was originally supplied along with the rest of the Undercity data but apparently my notice that it was non-working wasn't passed along until I mentioned it to Logan a few days ago.

Damn Steve you're a bug finding machine! Now I've got to go back and test some old tree assets I was hanging onto. They just happen to make use of billboards for that final detail level.

Tom passed along your sample model to me and I was able to reproduce your crash. This issue appears to have been fixed for Beta 2, but if you do run into any other billboarding issues following the next release, please let me know here.

Problem with the unused Healthpatch shape appears to be fixed also.
