I think the latest are ... "PhysX_2.8.4.5_for_PC_Core.msi" and "PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe" (can't remember if the later is necessary or not).

PhysX SDK - from the Nvidia site - which you have to be a registered member of to get.I think the latest are ... "PhysX_2.8.4.5_for_PC_Core.msi" and "PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe" (can't remember if the later is necessary or not).

I have the SystemSoftware installed, I didn't know that was the SDK. The original statement said that I needed PhysX and the PhysX SDK... I had presumed that "PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe" was the former.

In 1.1 the system software is no longer required. Nividia has changed their licensing so that the runtimes can be distributed with games so that the end user no longer has to download the system software separately.

The system software is what installs the runtimes. The SDK is needed in order to recompile a project with PhysX enabled. In 1.1 the system software is no longer required. Is it ok to install Torque 3D before installing Phys X if you don't run it? I would at least like to start looking at the API and features but the wait for getting registered for Phys X is killing me.

From http://developer.nvidia.com/physx-downloadsQuote:NOTE: Installation of PhysX System Software is only required before playing some games that use PhysX Technology. Since the release of PhysX SDK Version 2.8.4, PhysX System Software is no longer required.

I suspect it is "before actually trying to run/develop anything using PhysX, install PhysX-runtime/SDK".

I hope the slightly alarming title of this thread is as inaccurate as I chose to assume. I don't think you actually have to install everything you'll ever use "before running {unspecified, T3D, track & field?}"...I suspect it is "before actually trying to run/develop anything using PhysX, install PhysX-runtime/SDK".

It's not inaccurate, if your DirectX is not up to date (the runtimes at a minimum) Torque 3D will likely either not launch or launch with several graphical issues. The physx software is only required for Pre 1.1 versions.

I just tried to log in to the nVidia Developer Center and can't login. I tried to have my password set by clicking the Forgot My Password link and it said there's no such email. Even though I got there by clicking the link in my email from the dev support team. I'll build my project without PhysX for now and hopefully later I can implement it. Just thought I'd put it out there and see if anyone else has the same issue.

Make sure you're at the right site, supportcenteronline.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=1949. It sounds like you've most likely gotten into their new site (developer.nvidia.com) which is a separate login and only has PhysX 3 downloads.

No problem, glad to hear you were able to find it. That download link isn't the easiest thing to find. I have to play the hunt for it game if I don't go to it every month or two to keep it's location fresh in my head.
