umm if you install the Physx SDK you don't need the system software, as it's included in the SDK installation.

I ask because I'm pretty sure it doesnt come with the sdk, its a seperate download of around 40megs from the nvidia site,
in fact, they state this on the sites download page
"NOTE: Before installing the SDK, you must install the latest PhysX System Software."
check for yourself

Yupp was under that impression myself that the SDK only contains the development stuff not the basic runtime

Are we allowed to distribute any game (to sell) that uses PhysX without paying for a seperate commercial licenses to it too? This is just to download the free SDK to use, but not distribute right? I did not know if GG had made a deal with NVIDIA regarding the commercial distribution. As I recall NVIDIA told me it was thousands of dollars for a commercial game license.

You can distribute your game for no cost, but you have to contact Nvidia first, so that they can make sure you comply with section 6 of the EULA. Making sure you are displaying the logo correctly and in all the correct spots. They also are allowed to use the game in marketing material and such. If you read the EULA on the site, it goes over it pretty well. You only need a paid license if you are not doing a game, or you need source access.

We are having issues with our secure download server and so SDK downloads are not available at this time. Please check back periodically for any updates. We apologize for the issue and we are working to bring it back online as quickly as possible.
Below the above statement on Nvidia is the "Important Statement". What if they make it hard to get?

Because Nvidia is down for the SDK and making it difficult to register for a license, does anyone have another way for us to get the sdk?We are having issues with our secure download server and so SDK downloads are not available at this time. Please check back periodically for any updates. We apologize for the issue and we are working to bring it back online as quickly as possible.

Yea, this is proving interesting, seems like the SDK has been unavailable for going on 3 weeks now and there's more than a few stories of people finding it extremely difficult to become Registered PhysX Developers in order to download the SDK even prior to the download going AWOL... (No response to sign up requests for "months", no reason for refusal, etc.)

Anyone suspect that they thought "let's check out exactly how our SDK is getting used by making it a registered download" and then can't cope when they were inundated with gazzilions of requests?
