Bug: BSOD - Graphics Hardware - Windows Crash

BSOD
"Shutdown Unexpectedly"
Graphics Hardware.
"A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly."
What I did:
Loaded up Den level. (looked nice). Resized window to full screen - Player Turned Black. Disabled Advanced Lighting. Player returns to colour.
Enabled Advanced Lighting again, player started black shade. Fire weapon, particles show as white squares, PC crashes on explosion.
What I've done since:
Found a Windows patch for video card. Opened Den level with Advanced Lighting. Player looks fine again. Will attempt more testing with Advanced Lighting.
My GPU specs:
256mb GeForce 7900GS
I don't think I have the latest Nvidia driver.

Not that the new one helped too much.
When starting any project/kit, advanced lighting works fine, but once I hit full screen, it all goes black. And every time I start that kit/project again advanced lighting will be black.
If I start a new project, no problem, but once it hits it sticks.

178.24 upgraded to 182.50.Not that the new one helped too much.
When starting any project/kit, advanced lighting works fine, but once I hit full screen, it all goes black. And every time I start that kit/project again advanced lighting will be black.

But if I create a new project that project is fine ... until I resize the window (any resize, doesn't have to be full-screen) ... and then it goes black. Also I just noted that the terrain goes invisible when this happens too, I can see the skybox right through the Warrior Camp terrain.

Yep that's the problem. Once it goes it goes forever. But if I create a new project that project is fine ... until I resize the window (any resize, doesn't have to be full-screen) ... and then it goes black. I think i've seen some similar behavior when toggling between advanced and basic lighting repeatedly... but it goes back to normal after i restart the EXE.Well... bug report #1. :)

Maybe a dumb question, but does deleting the prefs help it to recover?

@Michael - yes, it reverts to fine/normal with the prefs deleted.

Recompiling the "My Project" helps to sort out the "advanced lighting/window resizing" issue.
However recompiling the demo execs does not make any difference to the issue, it still occurs with PhysX and FPS Genre Kit. I'm thinking this might be because I'm using VS2008Express, and maybe the demos were done with the non-Express version.
In VS2008Express I've got the new March09 DxSDK and also the older August08, but I can't see them conflicting.

A little progress ...Recompiling the "My Project" helps to sort out the "advanced lighting/window resizing" issue.

-Go fullscreen with a higher resolution (1280 x 960 and above for me)
-All textures turn black
If I switch back to a lower resolution, the game crashes. You can delete the prefs file and it will return to normal, but any time you go back to a higher resolution, this issue will happen again. This was not an issue in the Test Beta build a few days ago, just sprung up now.

Yup, changing that last 60 to a 0 fixed it. Where does that get set so I can fix it without having to constantly change prefs.cs?
