I'm sure I'm over looking it, but does GG have a media kit of logos for us to use for the in game credits and copy right? And for web site ads etc...

Maybe someone could make a "Powered by Torque" image that people could use on their sites.

Actually, in the Realm Wars distro, I think there is exactly that (If I remember correctly).

I don't for the life of me know why.

I'll need to take a look then. I'd been wondering if there was a logo kit, but I had never thought to ask about it.I don't for the life of me know why.

Quote:Especially considering they don't force to you advertise them, like say... macromediaSince macromedia delivers royalty free products (like director etc) its more then normal they force you to show their logo. I think this is a rather stupid attack on Macromedia.

Actually if you read the liscense agreement that comes with a product such as Director it states that you must clearly show the Macromedia logos not only at the end of the program but also on the products packaging. This is quite a common practice with software applications that most people simply ignore or are not aware of.Logan

Ok, I did't know it's an attack on anyone... I was just pointing out that MM DOES require you to affix their logo on any product you make and GG doesn't, AFAIK. You should lay off the coffee or crack or whatever it is you are doing to become so edgy.
To legally release a logo free Director application you have to pay Macromedia something in the ballpark of 10k US.
I don't really care about that, I was just mentioning it as it contrasts to GG's excellent licensing policies.

$10k sounds like a very familiar number in the Torque liscense...
(flame magnet prolly)

Lemme play devil's advocate here: $10k sounds like a very familiar number in the Torque liscense...

You don't have to pay that to remove a branding. :)

Yeah, but you only have to pay that under a different set of circumstances. You don't have to pay that to remove a branding. :)

Actually...does the liscense still require you to have the logo displayed after you pay the $10k? I'm a powerrender user and their big liscense doesn't even require a powerrender logo on the final product. Not that I really care. I'll display the engine logo no matter what to give credit where credit is due..I'm just curious.

So the 10k fee if paid so you don't have to use the logo. :)
I don't believe there are any stipulations with Torque to post any GG specific information except for copyrights and such. I could be wrong there though.

No, the product itself is about 1k (last time I checked) and the license to use without branding is 10k.So the 10k fee if paid so you don't have to use the logo. :)

I don't know if that's appropriate, but I doubt they are going to have problem with it.
