Digital Shock Network & Other Investor
Are now working side by side to bring the first full out Traditional style RPG kit to T3D. With many months of coding we have been able to come up with a base foundation to create such kit.

What will it include?
We have a large plan scope already mapped out, but we will be introducing a more simplified version to start to see where the community wants to take it.

Will it be a simple genre kit similar to the previous kits out there?
No, not at all. This will be quite a heavily modified version of T3D, still following the core system of T3D. Taking advantage of the new T3D editor, we will now be able to allow users to create full length RPG games all directly through the editor. With our Event Commands, users will barely need to script at all. But of course for advance users, that will be an option.

Can you break down what you plan for this kit? How is this different from the other MMORPG kit?
The difference between the kits is quite huge. Our kit will have a full toolset of functions specified for an Linear style RPG, similar to FFX or any other Japanese Style RPG. We will also plan to include a few bonus functions such as a full functionning camera system, that can take advantage of our EventCommands to create full length cut scenes, all through the editor! This kit will also include(future version), a complete customizable battle system, which can be fully scripted, and saved as moduels. This means users can possible create their custom scripts and redistribute them later. We also plan to have a few basic pre-scripted battle systems in play, which are modifiable. For future release of any other style battle systems may be available for sale on the dev store. More Details on how exactly what will be in this kit will be posted soon in my blog page.

@Thanhda Tie
Off topic, but I got an idea for a new project that I'm quite sure will sell. A third person shooter starter kit. It should have features like split screen, adv 3rd camera, roadie run like (GOW), and a couple other features. Just an idea! for something to do after the RPG Kit!

Good Luck, with the release!

I am interested in the T3D RPG Kit as long as it is priced right for "Budget minded" Indies.

you have to realize that the by soon it means within the next 5 years ( can be extended to 10 in some cases),

geeze people have such a skewed concept of time, someone says soon and they immediately think sometime in the next 3 to 6 months or even within a year, I mean it hasnt even been a year yet since this announcement was made have some patience

@Ken

The project was put on hold due to a lack of funding, however we have recently announced in our other blog, that we will be porting this to iTorque. This development process we are hoping to have a beta by end of year, and maybe an alpha by summer time period.

Hi Guys,

We just had an investor that wants the kit to be released on the iPhone first.

We also will be launching a full length game along side with it, the T3D version will follow shortly after. The cost to create assets for the iPhone is a lot more cost efficient compared to a nexgen T3D project.

Investor wants the iPhone version first?
Some people have more dollars than sense.

We had a tech demo 3 years ago, closed beta testing started a year ago and we're quickly approaching open beta testing.

Yes I remember that Tony, always wondered what had happened, along with the MMO project.

I guess Thanhda's investor is hoping to make a quick dollar by getting an early jump on the iPhone RPG market, but I wonder why Thanhda doesn't in that case release a Game Builder version, as I believe it's the same core as that of the Torque 2D for the iPhone.

I can see how easy it would be to release to the 2D developers first, but wonder how much difference there really is between the 2D and 3D versions, other than the increase planes of playable area in the 3D version.

Guess my thoughts
