Crashes on export attempt

by Ronald Ian Bantayan · in Constructor · 04/11/2009 (10:16 am) · 5 replies

Mac OS X Leopard 10.5
Constructor 1.0.3

It won't even export a simple box.

You need the 1.0.4 patch.

Edit: Fixed the link.

You linked the Windows patch, I'm running Leopard 10.5, but thanks, it did the trick. Why doesn't GG update the official Constructor download to 10.4?

Sorry, my bad - I'm using Leopard also. I've fixed the link.

Beats me why Macs don't get much love from GG. With each new product release it's the same old mantra - "We care about Mac support, and we'll fix it in the next version." Then, the next version arrives, the Mac port is still lacking, and the cycle repeats itself.

As an outsider looking in, the overall impression I get is that the engineers do care about Macs and they're doing the best they can, but the suits aren't giving them the necessary resources to do the job properly.

Seems like it, since it's taking them forever to release iTGB 1.2.

On a side note, I just found out that Constructor primarily does interior .DIFs, and not static mesh .DTSes. Odd, since Torque Game Builder only takes that format as 3D shapes .. . So back to Blender, I guess.

I was hoping to use Constructor to create my 3D objects for my games since it's developed in-house at GG.

Constructor is meant for creating interiors for TGE & TGEA. You're right, it's really not applicable to TGB.
