collision boxes

1st things first - I'm not the artist of my project. I'm just hopping in here are the "research guy", but we have an issue where we export objects created in 3dsmax but there's only one collision box (which also seems to be the bounds box). I have read that there can be up to 255 collision boxes in the newest maxdtsexporter plugin for 3ds max 9 (the version we have), but I can't seem to find documentation on how to create multiple collision boxes or use them on our objects. I don't mind digging up the info if you can point me in the direction of a pdf or some other documentation - but I can't even seem to find a live link to that!

Thanks for any help!

255 collision boxes ? ..where did you read this ?
[I use max9 and the exporter I use tops out at 20.]

use this and this to help you learn.

Thanks for the links. I am working on reading up on them. I am also redirecting some artwork into Constructor since I found some tutorials discussing building terrain-type rocks with Constructor.

Here's the comment about 256 collisions:

- I have only used the default max9 exporter since I used to hear bad things about that exporter in IRC, like 'broken' and doesn't work right. Then again, I never tested it to find out if the people talking where just angry or frustrated since I use the regular dts exporter and I have not had any real issues.

Good Luck
