Help Installing >.>

by Rob P · in TGB Platformer Kit · 03/03/2009 (10:01 am) · 14 replies

I feel rather noobish asking this but I am embarrassed to say I cant get the TGB Platformer Kit to work. I am on a mac ran the installer and can't figure out for the life of me how to start it up. I see a .exe for a pc and the .app file for mac says it needs a main.cs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Just pop the app into the Platformer Demo project folder and open her up! The demo folder is located in the same folder as the other TGB example projects.

So I have the pro version - do you have to change the engine source code at all and re-build it - to start building games with the Platform kit?

I haven't started messing with it much - but it spoke about that in the text file that popped up.

There are source files you need to add to the project, as well as a few TGB files that need updating. The ReadMe should have more info though.

Have you checked out the PSK TDN page?

Thanks! I haven't checked that out. Now would I be better developing on my PC than my mac? I feel like I am at a disadvantage on a mac for this type of work.

Thanks for all your help and hardwork!

TGB and the PSK work fine on a Mac, but the reality is that all Mac users are at a disadvantage, bwhahaha. I'm sorry =P

So I did the tutorial and got this error message

'initializeProject' function could not be found.
This could indicate a bad or corrupt common directory for your game.

The game will now shutdown because it cannot properly function.

Any idea what I did wrong?

I get This when I try to open world editor

Could not launch file: "/Applications/Torque_3D_2009_1_0_1-Mac/Examples/FPS Example/game/FPS Example.app/Contents/MacOS/FPS Example" -worldeditor -level Blank Room.mis

Don't worry, I see this works fine on my Imac. it seems it only works on Intel based Macs So my G5 with all its power and glory won't work.
