Hi all
Don't know if this is the right place but im wondering if you buy PSK, and later want to buy PSK pro can you upgrade from PSK with lower cost or do you have to pay the full amount ?
I want to buy PSK but since Im not developing for any console is it worth to get PSK pro or can I get PSK and later upgrade to PSK pro if the need is there ? with out having to buy a new licens ?

David hit the nail on the head. There is nothing preventing you from upgrading later at the reduced cost, the discount isn't going away.

So what do you need to convert your game to a particular console? The 2D TGB with source code and the pro kit? I ask because I am playing with the PSK and I like to dream big.Thanks.

While you're working on PC or Mac, non-pro should suit you just fine (unless you want to get under the hood).

If you want to work with a console, there is a good chance that you would prefer to use the source version of the PSK. Mainly because you can take advantage of having efficient scripts on a less powerful device. While you're working on PC or Mac, non-pro should suit you just fine (unless you want to get under the hood).

If you are looking at iTGB, then the Pro version is definitely what you want. The logic move to C++ will definitely increase performance on a limited mobile device.

"The Platformer Kit has been constructed for Torque Game Builder v1.5.0 (TGB) and up. The framework has been developed entirely in TorqueScript to take advantage of the new Behavior system and does not require engine modifications."
But now I see that even though that follows the paragraph talking about the Pro version of the kit, they aren't connected... bummer. Well, for now that's made my decision easier.
Still, I would suggest adding something that mentions that the Pro version requires TGB Pro with source code to that first paragraph of the overview, and also including it in the requirements.
I'm still in the trial period of the TGB demo, so I haven't bought a license yet. I plan on buying the basic Indie license, and then upgrade when possible/necessary. Is there anything in place that would have kept me from buying the Pro version of the kit if my TGB license was incompatible?

@David: In your first comment are you saying you need TGB Pro (with source code) to make use of the TGB Platformer Kit Pro? Why isn't that mentioned in the requirements? I read through the overview, features and requirements and didn't see that anywhere. I actually took away the opposite impression from this:"The Platformer Kit has been constructed for Torque Game Builder v1.5.0 (TGB) and up. The framework has been developed entirely in TorqueScript to take advantage of the new Behavior system and does not require engine modifications."

I believe there is a requirement of Torque 2D with source included in the store for the Pro product. I believe Philip has included a binary with the changes compiled in, but if you were wanting to optimize it further then it would require the source. Of course, if you were developing for the iPhone, you would have the source anyway since it is a core requirement.

You would need to have source access to TGB to make use of the Platformer Pro kit, which changes the core engine in a number of ways.
