The last information we have is that it's been handed over to the real experts who made the iPhone port, so we can't make fun of Michael anymore ;)

If the real experts can giv us a date, it would be nice.

I do find the lack of any response on GG side to be very poor customer service. To say that it was almost ready to come out over 10 days ago and then no comment what so ever as to why it has not happened or supply another release date, not even a rough ball park figure of end of next month for example is very poor.
It fair enough if there’s been some major problems, but show your customers a bit of common respect and say “Sorry, there’s been a bit of a problem / delay and expect it around this period of time”.
I’m personally more disappointed in the way GG has not given any response to the users then not actually getting the upgrade.

I also really don't like reading about all of the nice iTGE beta builds in blogs that have lots of fixes and new deployment direct from iTGE to simulator etc etc while seeing no new releases, not even minor fixes, being released to customers for iTGB since December 2008. Makes me wish I hadn't bought a product that wasn't going to be supported by GG.

i couldnt agree more. i remember being told back in march that it wouldn't be too long... selling a product under false pretenses is fraud, which I'm still pissed about.

To be honest with you GG should be kissing our feet that no one has opted to provide bad publicity over the net about their product. Could you imagine the amount of people that are collectively unhappy with the product in comparison to the amount that are above satisfied would be staggering.

@Mike - I have been damn good at responding as quickly as possible and paying attention to the iTGB forums, even when it wasn't necessarily my job or current task. I think our customer support is quite good when you compare it to most other companies. Name one other company that has this level of employee interaction, including forums, IRC Hours, live video streams, direct e-mail answers from whomever you e-mail and so on.

@Bret - iTGB has gotten more updates than iTGE. Indie iTGE users did not even get their hands on a build until just before GDC.

@Eaymon - No false pretenses were promised and no fraud occurred. Plenty of iTGB games (fun ones, I might add) have shipped. If the product was unusable, there would be 0 games out right now.

Going further, there has been negative discussion on other forums. Some users have even gotten direct help from myself or early access to builds, then turned right around and betrayed that trust and help.

I've even had users making personal attacks against me, calling me a loser, a hack, a liar, and so on. Forgive me if I'm a little disenchanted at this point. I've recently taken the approach of detaching myself from the forums to focus on the work, answering only a few posts here and there.

My focus has been Torque 3D and iTGB for months. Myself and the developers have been in these forums answering as many questions as we can, even when not being paid (weekends and past contracts). The recent slip in the release was due to some show stopper bugs found at the end.

New time frame? How about within the next 7 days unless the last couple bugs cannot be stomped.

@Michael when I said no updated I mean ZERO updates accessible by customers. I haven't seen a single code update since 1.1 in December that I have access to. In contrast I see lots of blogs about the new features in iTGE available to beta testers.

I'm not sure what you call an update. I have no doubt fixes have been performed in house, but none of those fixes are available to customers as far as I'm aware of.

Are you saying that I just need to re-download iTGB 1.1 to get some fixes that have been put out since December?

@Michael - Thank you for the new time frame update, its nice to have a day to look forward to even if its not set in stone, if it changes be sure to let us know! =)

Also, thanks to you and everyone working on iTGB for the dedication, I know myself and the people I work with are all very grateful. It can be hard to look for the light at the end of the tunnel when you don't know how long it will take to get there.

Good luck fixing the bugs!

@Michael so I just downloaded iTGB 1.1 again and did a recursive diff on the distribution and don't see any differences from the one I downloaded in december. Perhaps you can explain what you mean by "iTGB has gotten more updates than iTGE." . I'm not sure how 0 updates is more than xx updates. It's quite possible I'm missing something here as I've been mostly inactive in development since January.

anyone remember the first iTGB sales pitch on the website? None of it was true. and now the 'fast proven reliable',

fast - only if you go to the objective C level and then i might as well code the game myself.

proven - it is now

Reliable -Does anyone else have to open TGB Pro FIRST just to be able to work a project?

about the games produced.... how many are out in comparison to Unity3D? and weren't both engines released around about the same time? Doesn't it take more work to make a 3D game than a 2D game?

I agree i am disgruntled, over priced software that had no support for it ( majority of support came from other users that have figured out the issues). dont see why im paying to join a forum in some cases, but nonetheless we aren't attacking you Mike as you are the only one keeping face.

A week or so? Sounds great, if the last known bugs are the easy ones :)

In the meantime, those of you so inclined can go back to puppy-violence: http://index.rpg.net/display-entry.phtml?mainid=11189

@Michael Perry – Please don’t take it personally as I am not getting at you in any way and I apologize if that is the way it came off sounding, but my concern was with the total lack of feedback from when it was expecting to come out and not hearing anything. Your answer which you have just sent is fine by me, you’ve given a reason and a rough date, I’m happy with that. It would just have been nice to get it a bit sooner, that’s all, instead of what seemed like a wall of silence from our point of view.
As for your comments about customer support from other companies I’ve worked and do work with a few companies with a lot better support, in a different field of course (networking software and hardware), but that was not really my complaint, so I don’t want to go down that route and I don’t want to start a fight as that’s totally counter productive for everyone involved, we all have much better things to do with our time.
All I ask is if you could just do a quick post once a week to give a rough update like you just did, so we have a rough idea of what’s going on. I don’t expect you to spend all your time on the forums (god knows I don’t have time for that).
As for the personal attack, that’s just poor form on their parts and I am grateful for you talking in the forums and my post was not aimed as any form of attack, but I did feel the need to air my views and I got a response (which was nice) =)
Thanks for replying by the way.

Right it’s late and I need to sleep.
