Ohh god.. We need iTGB 1.2.. without it we won't be able to release a music game (with .WAV files it will be more than 200MB).. please release it!! Thanks

I'm looking forward to the MP3 support as well. Mini Shogi clocks in at 16 MB unzipped. 6 MB alone is for the song loop. So when zipped and in the store, I'm at 12 MB or just above the size max for 3G downloads. I'd love to do an update with it shrunk to under 10.

I honestly have no idea on how to promote mini shogi. I figure it's just kind of a niche game that those who are already into shogi will find. Right now I'm mostly in "port mode" with my games. I'm really curious to see if iPhone, even with the lower app price, can earn more than the PC games I've done.

@Chris - Yes, I think the app store can earn more than the PC market right now when it comes to casual games and Shogi. I'm strapped for cash and trying to figure out how to boost my income. It's come down to either writing a Torque Tech book or creating games for the App store. I heard stories at GDC about what some people have made ($$$) from the App Store. Very impressive.

It depends on what form the book takes, but sign me up if it is just the kind I want. Funny American money is almost free, so I'll buy the PDF and the printed book. See how Pragmatic Press do it - perhaps you should talk to them. /pragfanboi

I hear that strapped for cash song loud and clear. I work for a games company and it pays the bills but, I want to wake up in the mornings and be able to frakin' enjoy the sunrise. I also want creative control over what the heck I'm writing.

I'm in the iPhone camp now because it is genuinely the best place to make some genuine cash from a good game or app. Porting will likely go towards Android or Symbian. The key is that the market is definitely going the way of the mobile and as they become more powerful and capable. That market can only grow.

does anyone have succesfully compiled the iphone_test project on the simulator or iphone without the following error :

Fatal: (/Applications/iTGB_1_1/engine/compilers/Xcode_iPhone/../../source/audio/audioBuffer.cc @ 306) AudioBuffer::readWAV: remaining chunk data should never be less than zero.
