sounds interesting - i just didn't like this part "... but would only be open to the main publishers such as Electronic Arts ...". I actually liked the idea of having indie games and "big publisher" games mixed up in one store...

Then again, it might take some of the stigma away from a game priced around $10.

for us here it does not mean much directly.
Only games with half a million++ funding will end in that area, or as Apple calls it "PSP class games".
Not mobile spin offs and mini games as they happen right now due to the brute force price wars.

The indirect importance for us thought is that it will show the users that iPhone games are not the common phone trash so game prices of $9.99 will likely be much more accepted.
