Computer reboots when starting Chain Reaction

First things first...my system specs:
PIII 1GHz
512MB PC133 RAM
Abit SA6 Motherboard
Gainward GeForce 4 Ti 4200 Golden Sample (128 MB)
SoundBlaster Live! Value
Windows 2000
I'm running the latest drivers for all hardware.
When starting Chaing Reaction for the first time, my computer immediately rebooted.
On the 2nd attempt, I was able to get to the splash screen, and successfully register the game. I went through the options screen without any problems. Then when I started a new game, I saw the opening "room" for about a half-second, and then my computer rebooted again.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
I had no other processes running, and had disabled my virus scanner.
Thanks for any help,
Sam

Playing the intro will also cause a reboot. If I click past the intro, I can access the options menu, but once I start a game, it reboots my machine.
I've changed the .ini file to start the game in fullscreen mode, but it still reboots every time.

It may be a problem with your video driver and windows 2000. I had exactly the same problem with my GeForce4 driver/windows and torque engine. I solved it be installing the latest video driver 41.xx with directx 8.

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a shot.

Hmmm...I guess I could try reinstalling the latest drivers (that's what I'm using right now). Thanks for the help. I'll give it a shot.

If you wait through the intro loop do you see the demo level play through? In other words do you ever see the 3D parts displayed.
We've never seen a forced reboot, throwing an access violation would be much more expected.
If you haven't tried this already, try starting CR in full screen mode initially. There are instructions on how to do this in the Readme (which you can reach by Start->Programs->Chain Reaction->Readme.) I'd be surprised if this helped but let me know either way.
