Is the majority of the documentation outdated?

I already ran into problems getting this game on the 360 and getting mushrooms to work after following what the documentation told me (I figured out this stuff on my own luckily). Should I just avoid the documentation!?! This is really depressing!

well i think they are updating documentation but i think its only for tgea.
