mounting objects

Let me explain my problem. I am using the GuiPlayerSelectView in order to view dts objects. These ojects are rendered as TSShapeInstances and can be animated. I have found a way to access any node from the dts object. And I have been able to recreate the TSShapeInstnce code to make a new object, like a weapon. Problem is when I render the new object it always wants to render in the center of the the world. I would like to grab a node from the first dts object and have the new object render at that nodes location. I have looked at how shapebase objects mounts other objects but I just don't understand what is happening, can anyone please explain.
