HGT Cause Lock Up

When an hgt explodes on my computer, and other players computers it just locks up the the client

Edit: Also locks up if destroyed near chopper.

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue locally. Is it happening in debug or release? Also do you have any console info or debug spew about it?

I noticed something today, When I play in the default map that came with CSK the HGT don't cause a lock up.

I've even upload my console log and a video showing my steps to create the crash, which can be seen in this thread (read pages 1 and 2 of the comments).

The lockup occurs for me in stock 1.02. I unzipped the downloaded package, ran the demo, and then ran the HGT into the water. When it blows up, the app freezes. I've even upload my console log and a video showing my steps to create the crash, which can be seen in this thread (read pages 1 and 2 of the comments).

Yeah, I didnt try running it into the water. I will try that, it usually locks up on me in my own map when it blows up period

HGT_Debris.dts causing LockUp: I believe this is to do with the sheer amount of geometry groups in the HGT's debris dts file. There are close to 200 mesh groupings and this may be causing some render problems for some. I, myself having created the asset, NEVER had this CTD/lockup affect my engine; but I'll accept it is an issue for some and needs some redress/attention. SOLUTION: re export the asset with far fewer mesh groupings. Taking the M998 Guntruck debris DTS or any other and using it in the datablock, does not seem to cause the CTD/lockup. Test using a 'smaller' debris file and see how optimizing can help it along.
