White screen on Mac

by amankin · in Marble Blast · 11/25/2008 (3:41 pm) · 9 replies

I just bought the game, but when I clicked on it, it immediately went to fullscreen. The screen started out black for about a second, then stayed white for a few minutes. I just force quitted out of it. Whats wrong???? I've played it on my laptop before and it worked fine. Somehow it got deleted before, but back then it was working perfectly.

I have had a couple of people contact me about this. So far I do not have a solution for it since some people are running it fine. Is it and Intel Mac or PPC running Leopard? That might help isolate it a bit.

Could be an ignition issue; problems like this have been known to show up if ignitionstatus gui and ignition gui are corrupted or removed, I believe.

Thanks! I think I remember seeing a couple of posts back in the day about this now that you mention it. But I hadn't remembered until jostled!

Any suggestions on how to fix it? I have the same problem running 10.5.6 on an intel imac. interestingly, it doesn't happen on my (admin) account, where the game runs fine. However, it will get to the 'white screen of doom' on startup on my son's managed user account. I have tried downloading a new copy while in his user account and installing it, but no go. Could this be something permission-related?

It *shouldn't* be a problem, but I have had some strange things happen in ThinkTanks and MarbleBlast on restricted accounts with Parental Controls active. Unfortunately, I do not know how to resolve them since the couple of people who have had them ended up changing the account type to get around it.

Pershing,

Thanks for your tip, but the problem isn't one of not being able to select MBG as an allowed application, but rather one of MBG launching and then freezing at a 'white screen of death'. I do think that it is likely permission-related, but I haven't had a chance to work it out (yet).

I do appreciate the tip, though, along with any other tips that you (or others) might have.
