Guys, the T3D version of the Kit is going to be a few days late.. I'm simply not satisfied with it just yet.

To make up for the wait, I'll tell you that it will support texture scaling on the cliffs, a neat new feature available only in the new T3D version.

Right now, the Torque 3D version needs shader model 3.0. I want to push that requirement down to 2.0 for the release.

Thanks for your patience.

How is the conversion coming along for the T3D Cliff version Kit Konrad ?

I hope it is going well :)

Hey Hans. I've hit a wall to be honest. The Torque 3D version of the Cliffs Kit is heavily affected by changes between T3D 1.0 and T3D 1.0.1. I've started rewriting the shaders for the Kit along with some of the core code. It's not going too well, but I'm hoping it will be available within a week.

Guys, I'm sorry for the delay, thank you for your patience.

I had to post this picture to show off just a little of what's coming for the Torque 3D version of the Cliff Construction Kit. The new Cliff Editor (half size on the above shot) will make it super easy to set up your cliffs and cliff replicators.

The accumulation shader has been reworked from scratch. Although the Torque 3D version will require Shader Model 3.0, and we will only have the HLSL shaders for now, it will look significantly better than any of the previous versions of the Kit.

Bitgap Games (that's us :) is getting ready for the release sometime this week. We are still working on docs and promotional stuff to make everything perfect.

For previous owners, will this be a free upgrade?

@Ron: Yes. It will appear under your Bitgap account with the other versions when it's out. We'll probably send out an email reminder to everyone who allowed newsletters.

Konrad: Great work on the T3d version, looks good. How can I get a copy of the T3d version and the older TGEA version? My TB hard drive crashed with about 650 GIGs of backup stuff at Halloween and I can't find a backup of the BC kit. Any chance I might be able to download a copy from your site or can you activate a copy for me in my GG account by any chance? My GG account never was activated btw for the kit even thou you know I bought it when it first came out :D

Let me know bro and thanks! I emailed you about it but never heard anything back. Send you a wrong email too, the poem was suposed to have gone to my girlfriend, not to you :D See ya later bro and thanks!

:) Hey Will!

Thanks, man, no worries. I'll have to check on those mails. I don't usually lose emails. Sorry about that.

On the 10th of October you were sent an automated email with your pre-generated account info to your address from which you bought the Cliffs Kit. See if you can find that email in your spam folder. The email went out from the address info at bitgap.

The Torque 3D version will be out later this week. If you have any further problems, write to any address on the bitgap site, and I'll get in touch with you asap!

Hello everyone!

The T3D version of the Cliff Construction Kit is out! Check your Bitgap.Com account for the download.

The Torque 3D version of the CCK is v1.3 BETA. That means that it has lots of new stuff in it - like the new editor, and the completely rewritten shaders. It's a BETA because it does not have updated docs yet. The most important thing to keep in mind is:

Place a cliff or a cliff replicator like any other environment object, and double-click on the object to bring up the new Cliff Editor.

I've prepared a short video of the Cliff Construction Kit in Torque 3D 2009 v1.0.1. It's now in the original post of this thread.

Hmmm, I added the BGCliffs to T3D v1.1 Alpha...it compiled alright, but not working. I added the a cliff object to the scene...ok, but material was grey..no default material shown.
Also, when I doubled clicked with the mouse, no editor popped up.
Is this because it needs to be updated with v1.1 Alpha?

Anyway I'll try it with Torque 3D v1.0.1 for now.

@Jim:

The new version of the CCK is for T3D 1.0.1.

T3D 1.1 Alpha is not yet a "stable" version meaning that some very important things are missing or halfway implemented in it - which is cool for an alpha, but I wasn't going to build on it just yet.

When the final 1.1 comes out, the Kit will have an updated 1.1 version.

Ok thanks Konrad. Will stick to v1.0.1 until then.

Ok, I went back to T3D v1.0.1.
Installed a fresh version & recompiled source code just fine.
Copied over the ../t3d/cliffs/<4 data files> to engine.
Created new filter in vs2008 & added existing 4 files in that directory.
Recompiled & got 113 errors.

I then removed the t3d/cliffs directory from vs2008...and recompiled without any errors.

[Edit]: Here's the msg that produces 113 errors??:
BSCMAKE: error BK1506 : cannot open file '....LinkVC2k8.Release.Win32FPS Example DLL tsCliffStatic.sbr': No such file or directory

Anyone else having similar problem?

@Jim: Can you send me the list of the errors you get (konrad at bitgap) please? I'll help in sorting this out.

Konrad: Thanks for your help....got this working perfectly now! Such a nice program, really adds a lot of realism to my project.

I went to www.bitgap.com and opened up instructions, and went line by line changing C++ source code (a lot of which was not in source code after copying over the original download files to). Recompiled without a hitch. Thank you so much!

No worries, Grugin, thanks for your purchase.

There's a huge new thing coming along (free update for CCK owners) but I can't say more just yet. :)
