Hello, I am 13 years old and would love to be part of the gaming community. I don't know where to start or how to start or what I need to do. I use a Mac and would not like to spend money on this gaming stuff as of now. What should I do? I know a little bit of html, too. I have Edward F. Maurina's Garagegames book, and 3d Game Engine Design book.

Easy, follow the examples in the book, learn how to Mod game scripts. After you feel confident altering scripts try to impliment simple changes like; making a gui to change your player's datablock. As you get older decide if you like the art or programming side of game development and focus your time on developing skills to get better in the selected field

programming - do mathmatics
art - draw A LOT

Just being here is the first step to the rest of your life!!!

I have the game engine on my dad's account. Is it possible I can buy the upgrade to the new game engine but get it on a different account?

WOW!!!

Your like my clone!

I am 13 (started when I was 10), I use a Mac, and I knew HTML when I started...

Well here is what you should do:

Get the 30-day trial of TGB and learn some scripting by following the tutorials. Then if you like it, then buy an indie license.

It is really cheap ($100), so then you should start building a real game from what you have learned.
