TGB 1.7.4 Mounting Tutorial rain particle effects not shown

I have tried running the tutorial base and found that i cannot see the rain particle effects even if i drag it into the camera zone (or run it). There's not preview either. I am running mac version of 1.7.4 TGB. Any ideas?

Hmmm.. still having issues for me.. Long thread.. I downloaded the particles.zip file and replaced the rain. Looks like I still have a few that are not showing up. Radin being one, shockwave and rainsplash.

Anything particular that you did to gets yours to show?

I'm having this problem. I'm using a Mac OSX 10.6.5. Kinda frustrating because I can't finish the tutorial.
