if you really want to be certain, say, if you are giving out a revised section of the sdk - you could require someone to post in the thread + email you for the actual code.
that way, when someone e-mails you saying "yeah I am So-and-so" and then you see that So-and-so hasn't replied to the thread, you can safely assume that person isn't So-and-so.
