Licensing question

I have a feeling I'm over thinking this and asking a silly question but for the sake of clarification...

On the Showtool product page under the "buy now" button is the line FOR QUALIFIED INDIE LICENSE HOLDERS, but no-where on that specific page is there any indication of what that actually means, where other product pages have additional information about indie/commercial license criteria. A colleague of mine (modeller) wants to purchase Showtool but is reading that as meaning you must already have a TGE/TGEA license before you purchase Showtool. Obviously, he's not interested in spending $150 on something he doesn't need in order to qualify to purchase Showtool... (I know it comes free with TGE anyway, but it'd still be the more expensive route)

I'm reasonably convinced he's mistaken and this isn't the case, since I assume Showtool is intended as a tool for members of a team who have no immediate business with the engine itself (ie, modellers) and just want to test their work.

Could someone confirm that?

Well actually, showtool only works with .dts objects and .dif interiors (I.E. Things only for TGE).

Now unless he is planning to do a ton of modding and hacking into the application, it isn't going to be very useful if you aren't going to use TGE/TGEA.

Now if you are using the demo, then I need to tell ya that you can't.

I would seriously think about buying the full TGE/TGEA version, you will love it... Especially the source code.

As you mentioned TST comes free with TGE purchase however Programmers and Artists are permitted to purchase and install TST without buying the engine.
It's a Team tool so artists can test their DTS files before releasing them for implementation for the project your team is working on.
On the product purchase page is a link to the EULA.
Buying the engine is not a prerequisite for buying TST.

Thanks muchly, Scott.

Pretty much the logical conclusion I'd come to. Never even thought to check the EULA.

Now, does anyone have a solution for Torque induced sleep deprivation?
