Does either TGE/TGEA work on vista or do they only work on xp?

Actually I have found that TGE does not work too well with vista as TGE uses OpenGL which isn't natively supported anymore. But my copy of TGEA works fine.

TGE and TGEA work well on vista. OpenGL is supported natively also, your information is quite old. Look here for some interesting info:

Thats interesting. I have a project I did for school in TGE that doesn't render well at all on my vista rig. All of the polygons were invisible and it ran super slow. But that was a few months ago, so maybe I need to try it again.

@andrew - You may want to make sure you have up to date video drivers.

Most often, updating your drivers and directx SDK go a long way towards making sure TGEA and Vista get along. Additionally, I found that SP1 certainly helped make Vista a good bit speedier and a bit more stable as well. XP is always a good (and safe) choice though :)

Well, TGEA works pretty well for me on my vista rig, which is good since I do have the licence for that, and I love it a lot more than TGE. The only problem I have is with the procedural materials, which I posted about in another thread, but I will be sure to get new drivers and an update to the DXSDK. Who knows? Maybe that will solve that error too.

There is a thread somewhere helping out with Vista64.
