How to rotate a mounted object

I have an object mounted on the player. The object is of ShapeBase type. I need to give a certain rotation to this object in each frame. But when I rotate this object, it returns back to the previous orientation.
Is there a way to rotate an object mounted on another object, without moving the object on which it is mounted.
