I have a new version of Constructor up for test. This includes all of the previous fixes, plus the scene tree enhancements shown in the previous post, as well as some fixes for disappearing polygons and invalid zones.
www.aztica.com/images/constructor_update.zip
Here is a more complete description of the changes since the last update:
1. Faces can now be selected in the scene tree.(brushes are collapsed by default).
2. Selection sets are now displayed in the scene tree, and behave as groups when selected from the scene tree.
3. Small bug with Coplanar faces causing errors with Zone Lists. (caused disappearing polygons).
4. Disabled check for "all points on plane" when exporting polygons (caused lots of disappearing polygons in maps with skewed faces).
5. Removed duplicate vertexes from faces on export (instead of discarding faces with duplicate vertexes). Results in less polygons being removed from the scene.
What's different:
When moving from faces to brush mode (and vice versa), the selection set is cleared. This was causing some problem with the new tree code.

Eh, and holding Ctrl and clicking on the arrows of a brush, doesn't rotate the brush anymore, and Undo doesn't seem to work at all,

OK - I'll look into it. Unfortunately, I didn't change anything with either of those functions (undo or rotating), so it may take a bit to figure out.

Benjamin - I tried these here on two different boxes, and didn't see either issue. Can you try updating over a fresh install?

After a windows roll-back we are all good again, a learnt lesson that I should have known in the first place.
thanks Jaimi it all seems to work fine now, sorry for the panic,
(edit) for some reason it only saved the .cls files not the .cxs files, I'm going to bed and face the gruling task of trying to recover 30+ hours worth of work tomorrow morning, let this be a reminder everyone, If you value it, back it up!

God I never save files on my C drive ever, for that reason I keep a development directory of C drive drive for all my stuff, and think it is a pain to even have to keep texture files on C drive in the Big C, but a great FYI and if I cannot do a separate install with the new dev, then will make sure to back any files I do keep in there backed up /smiles....Looks very cool though so will install this puppy.

Do portals work?
#10
@Dave Young: This fixes some bugs that might effect portals (the zone list got kind of wonky), but does not specifically target portal bugs.

@PerishingFlames: No, this is the windows version. I'll try to arrange to make a Mac version as soon as possible (Hear me, oh gods of Apple, send me a mac so I can get these out on time!).@Dave Young: This fixes some bugs that might effect portals (the zone list got kind of wonky), but does not specifically target portal bugs.

@Jaimi: I made another one of my test cubes. This time I was attempting to test Constructor's lighting. The cube has a single portal and 1 Constructor point light. Unfortunately when I tried to export as dif, it crashed Constructor. I experienced this problem on multiple tests. I've emailed the most recent CSX test cube (built in a fresh install of Constructor 1.0.4 with the update from above, but not the portal test update) as well as the Constructor console log (just in case it helps).

I'd just like to say that this update has been amazing with me, I was pulling my hair out with some of the bugs and errors I was having with 1.3, and this has solved everything.

If I make a brush then move a face or vector I cannot undo it, I used to be able to do it in the previous version.
Thanks, Keep it up.
