Hello everyone. We are super excited to bring you this open beta release of the Torque Game Engine Advanced! Please read Matt Fairfax's blog post(s) as it is a great place to get a picture of what is new and what has changed with TGEA. Additionally you will find a list of the current major known issues over in the TGEA bug forum. As this is a beta, there are going to be bugs and issues encountered by the users in the community and I would like to provide some helpful information regarding how you can help us to track down and squash these bugs as well as provide you with information regarding the current bugs you will likely run into.

First, let's start with what to do when you find a bug.
To be of maximum use to us here in the Garage, we need to have the following information included in your bug report :

Please post the completed bug to the TGEA Bug Forums, with the tag "TGEA 1.7.0 Beta 1 Bug " - followed by a clearly written brief description of the bug in the forum post title.
Next, follow up in the body of the post with :

1. A clear description of what you were trying to do when the problem occurred. Include repro steps if necessary.
2. The results you expected to have happen.
3. What actually happened? If you need to include any crash logs, etc. please feel free to do so.
4. Any relevant information such as compiler version, etc. Use your judgment on this one... For example if you feel that it is a video related bug, please include your video adapter and the driver information.
5. If you have a fix for the bug - all the better! Post it in the body of post as well and enjoy the feeling of happiness that washes over you for your good deed.

We really want to try to have people stay away from posting multiple different bugs in the same thread or in any thread other than its own dedicated thread, to avoid having a huge thread that is too confusing to try to comb through. If we can keep all the bugs in the TGEA Bug Forums and keep each bug in its own thread, it will make it much easier to address them and get them logged into our internal bug tracker. Thank you!

Depending on how many people are submitting bugs and with what frequency, I may ask some of you to consider using our external facing bug tracker, at which point I would create an account for you and you could directly submit your bugs there.

Your feedback on what you like and dislike about this Beta release is also very important to us!! Please post all non-bugs in this Feedback thread over yonder.

I am also going to setup some nifty prizes for those who contribute to our efforts to track down and fix bugs, including a Commercial TGEA license and some gift certificates or other swag. We will decide the criteria for winning the prizes in the very near future and let you know.

Please see this thread over in the TGEA bug forum for the major known issues in this beta build and remember to post each bug you find in its own thread in that forum using the above guidelines.

Thank you all for participating in the beta and enjoy!
