Exporting transparent shapes to TGE

Hello everyone, first of all I would like to say that I'm new to 3d max and all that exporting stuff. I've been trying to make a transparent shape, something like glass, but I had no luck. Can anyone please give me step - by - step instructions how to do it and make a transparent shape & export it to TGE, or give me a link to tutorial if there is any. Many thanks.

Well the texture will determine the transparency. you'll need to use PNGs with an alpha transparency..... But you'll probably also have to set some setting in max when you export. With Lightwave, i set the surface to 10% transparency and the exporter does what it needs.

Oh ok, but what do you mean "With Lightwave, i set the surface to 10% transparency". Can you please be more specific because I'm really new to 3d Max.
