Animation not playing.

I am using MAYA 8.0 with the export utility to make a DTS model. Without getting into too much detail i have tried everything to get my animation to play. it is a building with a moving part. It just wont auto play the animation ... the animation does expot with the model and in the viewer i can press play but it wont auto play. what do i do? any documentation that would be good to read on this?
