3d max and diffs

I've used Constructor, but I want to know if I can make diffs in 3d Max or will I have export it as a DTS.
Example: I've made a building with a normal map, I want to be able to go inside of it up and down the stairs and into other rooms.

How would I export this as a diff file or DTS?

Also how do set up portal in 3d Max?

Well, there's this resource which lets you export from Max to Constructor, from whence you can export to DIF.

As to your second question, there are a few tutorials and threads on this already. Search should help.

Will this also create portal and will it have collision to where I can walk from room to room, and go up the stairs

You can create your portals in Constructor once you import it into Constructor.

So if I use 3d Max and make a DTS can I make the portal in Max, because I want to use normal maps on the inside and outside of the buildingor is there a better way to do this?

No. DTS's are not portaled.
