Guys, I'll copy here a mail I sent yesterday to David Blake, with a temporaly solution:Quote:David, in my dispair Ive been playing around searching for a solution.
It seems to be some server in the middle, much possible a DNS server, is not the site itself.
In the meantime, I found it works perfect to me to enter the site through the ip address 216.116.32.49
Hope it helps at least till you guys could find a better solution.

Firefox users can get around this issue using the Tor Button plugin, give it a try. I'm not sure how Tor works but hopefully this sheds some light on what is causing the errors.addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2275

Well for me its affecting TDN as well now... it seems like Im going to try the TOR plugin after all.

Try connecting directly to the ip address rather than the domain name to see if it resolves some of the issues. This has been working for the ones who started doing it, AFAIK.

LOL David, yes, Im one of who emailed that point to you a few days ago. The problem is that I cant find the TDN host ip address. Could you help on that one?

Not sure if it helps but when www.garagegames.com resolves to 96.6.179.193 I get the problems... for now I just have the IP hard coded in /etc/hosts and things are fine.

Sorry to say this (since you guys are having such problems), but I am using both Firefox and Seamonkey and having no problems accessing the site. I hate to admit it, but I check this site often during the day (up to several times an hour) and I have had no problems. I am connected through AT&T DSL from both home and work. Perhaps there is some issue with your ISP's?

We're reasonably certain it's a problem with Akamai, and have submitted a ticket to them, but not much else we can do until they resolve their end.

And the forum itself isn't the issue here. It seems to be authenticated resources that are the issue, which includes the forum, TDN, resources, profile pages, etc.
There are changes in the works, but I don't think Jive is part of those changes.

Perhaps because Jive is $25,000 a year for commercial sites. With a product-base such as game support, the Developer community license wouldn't cut it.And the forum itself isn't the issue here. 98% of our users aren't having any issues at all--only those that go through certain (undetermined at this time) Akamai nodes are.
01/29/2008 (7:20 am)
In any case, the forum software itself has nothing whatsoever to do with the issue--Akamai (which is a content distribution service) is having some problems with a few small nodes in referring the authentication back to the primary server.98% of our users aren't having any issues at all--only those that go through certain (undetermined at this time) Akamai nodes are.

I have Firefox clearing my cache every time I close it. Doesn't seem to fix the issue for me.

@Derry, no its not the ISP. We could be the 2% of the site traffic, but we are all over the world, Im from Argentina and Im having the same problems. Also on my fisrts tests I overpassed any posibly (transparent)proxy that my ISP could have, without result, but I can reach the site through public proxys anyway, which indeed proofs what Stephen says, a problem on specific nodes of the Akamai network.
@David, I dont follow you... what are you talking about (?) it seems like I lost some part of the conversation?
@No George, the known posibilities are a public proxy or proxy network (like Tor) which in my case is useless due to speed, and to access the site through an ip address.

@Stephen, well at least we *know* what it is, which means someone also knows an is working on it... lets hope, its getting worst, for a while I also loose TDN yesterday, its becoming very tedious.@Derry, no its not the ISP. Sorry. Someone posted that we should use a different forum software so I answered them. Then they deleted their post.

@Novack I was responding to a post that cleaning the cache would fix the problem, however, that post has now been deleted.

Oh, Ok. I dont know why, but even before David and you say so, I got many email advises from posts that were also deleted on this thread- Kind of too much anxiety around this matter.
