Question about TGEA update and TX3D

by Kory Imaginism · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 01/19/2008 (1:23 pm) · 2 replies

I love the new info on TGEA update i was wondering since they are trying to get ready for torque Juggernaut from my understanding that is (TGE, TGEA, TGB) and I think TX3D, What i want to know is if they are going to implementing splitscreens/ multiplayer/Co op and Physics into TGEA? I love how easy it is for me to us TGEA, but I love the features in TX3D but i don't understand how to us it or I have no knowledge on C#.

thanks for your time

First off, Juggernaut will not be going public. Matt has taken a huge amount of time to get some of the best and most stable features of Jugg into TGEA. Also, TX will not be making an appearance as it is a completely different engine built from the ground-up in C# using XNA. I don't believe any work is being done on split-screen tech. There are a couple of resources, but I don't know how robust they are (or if they work for TGEA) when it comes to networked ghosting of multiple objects (say for two people on the same machine playing as a team in a large-scale deathmatch).

Physics are a different issue that is not currently on the release radar. There've been a number of research peeps about different physics models on the forums, but I'm not sure the direction.
